Have you ever thought for a moment why we as a country support terror
on the one hand while waging The Global War on Terror on the
other? Yes, you read me correctly. It is a plain fact that
the United States supports terror. Similarly, the United
States buys more illegal drugs than most nations combined while
simultaneousy waging a decades long War on Drugs. The logic is
simple: your dollars and mine pay for oil and those dollars are
used by the corrupt regimes that produce most of the worlds oil to prop
up anti-American and anti-western terrorists all over the world.
Furthermore, our government gives our tax money to corrupt governments of the
middle east in a futile attempt to buy loyalty. Those same nations
turn out an ever increasing supply of fresh new terrorists yearning to
find martyrdom at the expense of the west. Its truly astonishing
when you think about the dysfunction of it all.
Are you tired of the nebulous phrase "Global War on Terror"? We
aren't fighting terror, we're fighting Muslim terrorists. Muslim
terrorists primarily from the middle east. A more apt description
of this war is the "Global War on Middle Eastern Muslim Extremists",
but I'm sure the PC crowd in Washington scratched that one off the
board in their focus groups shortly after 9/11.
Not being one to sit around and ask questions all day in a worthless
attempt to rationalize it all away, I've come to the conclusion that
the only solution to this so called "war on terror" is to take away the
one thing the terrorists must have in order to wage an effective war
and that is our money. And this is where Mr. Bush must
lead. Mr. Bush must insist that this nation reduce its dependency
on oil by 50% by the year 2015.
In the early 60's JFK announced to this nation that we would have a man
on the moon by the end of the decade. It happened. His
vision and ambition forced this nation to react and achieve. It
is my opinion that if Mr Bush announced an emergency national address
tomorrow night then went on TV and told the world that this nation's
mandate and vision was to reduce oil dependency by 50% by the year 2015
and that our government was earmarking 200 billion dollars in research
grants to find legitimate alternative fuel sources effective
immediately and made a strong case that this was the key to winning the
GWOT, most Americans would be estatic. Heck, I don't think most
Americans would mind paying a few extra bucks a month for fuel of some
sort in the year 2015 as long as it meant our dollars weren't going to
Saudi Arabia to pay for bloody terrorist supporting oil.
Can you imagine the fear in the hearts and minds of the corrupt middle
eastern regimes upon realization that their sugardaddy, the United
States of America, was not going to keep sending them checks in the
future? I would love to be at the next OPEC meeting after our
national decree. They say all war is economic at its heart, and surely this is true today.
